About

In the summer term of 2006, we received notification from DfES and Trafford LEA that St Ambrose College had been designated as a Pathfinder school, and as such would be rebuilt on our current site.

The existing buildings, many of which are over 40 years old will be demolished.

Over the next few weeks we will be sharing ideas between students, staff, parents, governors and members of the local community as to what resources the new school should contain and how it can alter our delivery of a modern education.

The Student Council will be visiting new schools to gain an insight into the possibilities for new buildings. Architects will be advising staff and students as to the feasibility of different ideas and we will be trialling a range of new technologies which may be used into the new school.

This blog is one way to register your ideas.

I think that the school shouldn’t lose it’s character and become all plastic and superficial.

I think the school should get a very modern structure, so that over the years the school will not look like it was built in the 80’s

i think sean is wrong and the school should not look plastic but retain some of its mature and sophisticated features.. it should however be modern, but still have character

It seems that what sets Ambrose apart from other surrounding schools is that it has a reputation known nation-wide. This reputation should be founded by a building that represents exactly what we stand for. Hence i think that a central library with the corridors of that would retain character and keep a traditional air to the college along witgh injecting some modernity into it.
