New School

Last week members of the Student Council visited Navigation Primary school which was rebuilt in 2005.

Feature which impressed us were:

• lighting which automatically turned on and off when people entered or left rooms

• a ventilation system which automatically refreshes the air after each lesson

• microphones and speakers for teachers in each classroom

• wide corridors

• good use of natural light

• a sprung floor in the gym

• solar panels on the roof

• sound proof classrooms

• rooms which have been designed with community access in mind

• the way in which pedestrians are kept away from cars

• a welcoming and secure entrance

What do you want in the new school above all else?

This should become a wish list of all items that we want in the new school.

Do we need a theatre, cinema, music recording rooms, film studio, swimming pool, lecture rooms, all-weather pitches, specific common rooms for all year groups?
